Our library houses more than 2000 books. We understand the significance resources can have on academia; therefore, we have mandatory library period for all students, every week. Works of fiction, non-fiction and periodicals are available and all the key books can be found in our library. Students, as well as teachers can issue books on any of the working days. The premises of our library are always opened to the readers so that they can sit and read in peace and calm.
The safety and security of students and staff is one of the paramount importance to us. The transport system of the school comprises a fleet of 28 buses, the largest of all the schools in Leh. Each bus is well-equipped with fire extinguishers and well stocked first aid boxes. The bus routes cover almost the entirety of Leh and its surrounding areas. Each bus has a trained lady attendant to accompany the students during pickup and drop-off which eases the approachability for students and fosters a feeling of safety amongst them.
At our institution we make sure that your children are in safe hands, therefore, we have the best medical facilities for our students. Our medical care unit has 6 comfortable beds, important emergency medicines, first aid and sanitary napkins. One medical staff member is always present to aid the students in need, accompanied by a helper as well. We understand that situation can be graver sometimes and the student may need better medical facilities. In order to deal with such a predicament, an ambulance is stationed permanently in the school campus.
The auditorium is one of the most important units of the school building. It is a place for the assembly of pupils, and teachers to host numerous events including annual day and various competitions. The school auditorium is equipped with the most modern audio-visual facilities and a massive seating capacity of approximately 700 people. It is fitted with a projector, effective and modern light sound system. Video workshops are held here which gives exposure to the students in showcasing their talents and groom their inborn virtues. Such programs develop creativity and DPS Leh aims to improve academic performance in various ways.
DPS canteen is known for its healthy and delicious options. Our canteen serves only vegetarian food. Keeping health as our primary focus, we do not sell junk food here. We know how good food can nourish the young minds and that’s why we serve healthy home-made food at our canteen. From assortment of pakodas and rolls, to rajma chawal, puri, bread pakoda, dal chawal, we have kept many scrumptious options in our menu. Our menu is designed to maintain a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrates and nutrients. We understand the role a canteen plays for a student, and for this reason, we keep introducing new items in our menu each week.
